Service is really that bad. Couldn't even get food because the service was so slow. Was a struggle just to get beer. Pass. Won't last long here unless a serious change in management occurs.
Possibly the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. Waitress paid us practically zero attention - failed to give us silverware, and could not get her attention as our food was getting cold so we had to get up and get take care of ourselves. Drinks went empty and we were never visited to see get refill or see how we liked the food. Portion sizes were smaller than expected, so we were planning on ordering more food but no amount of handwaving could capture her attention as she chatted it up with another table, back turned to us most of the time. Waited for the check an awefully long time - so long my wife and daughter ended up leaving the restaurant to visit a bathroom. Once they stood up, she came right over and we got the check and were paid out very quickly, which I found interesting. I asked for a manager and she said she'd go get him, and walked off. Minutes later she comes back around and I ask again. After another several minutes, I finally decided to find him myself, which was easy because he was right behind the bar. I gave him a piece of my mind and left. Ridiculous.
I don't understand the rotten revews. The food was tasty, not the best I've ever eaten, but good. The server was attentive and we had no problems at all. Very close (ok, IN) our hotel. There was not much of a crowd; either two or three tables with several people at the bar, so I'm not sure if that accounts for the difference, but I would recommend Winchester's without hesitation.
Absolutely the worst restaurant experience EVER! Wait staff ignored us after seating us, the bartender was rude, rude, rude! I went up and asked him what a certain bottle was and he grabbed it, slammed it on the bar, twisted it so I could read the label and walked away without saying a word to me. My friend ordered a flight of whiskeys and was given 4 tiny samples (seriously tiny) and was charged $40. Ridiculous! This was a night they were offering $5 shots. These were not shots. We left. Beware and choose another place.
Best burgers on the island. Our waitress was great. Speed of service was fine. We’ll be back.
