The ghost tours sure did interest me. I wanted to go on it so bad, because I love ghost stories. The stories on the tours were very good, but they stretched the truth. They took the real story and started putting more (fake) facts in to make it more interesting. I would not recommend it. It is one of those things that grabs your money.
I was a little disappointed that we only covered things in the downtown area. I had also assumed we'd be taking a carriage but that was probably my mistake. Our tour guide was awesome, and a great story teller. I enjoyed the history of the island and the stories, I just wish we got to hear about more of the hauntings on other parts of the island.
Could have had a more thrilling time.
So horrible. Not worth the money. I wish we had a seasoned storyteller with believable, compelling stories. Delivery was sub par, she was so quiet and got consistently distracted. Stories were questionable, historically. Do yourself a favor, Google some island ghost stories and make your own tour. Save the $18 for a cocktail and a souvenir t-shirt.
Just returned from the haunted walking tour and though it wasn't exactly what I expected, we had a really fun time. Our guide was friendly and fairly knowledgeable about the island. She was honest about the fact that she was still working on a story and might stumble a bit. She kept the attention of the entire group and was very patient with everyone who had questions. We also learned that our particular hotel was a stop on the tour and now I have spent the last hour trying to convince my 8 year old nephew that it was all for fun and ghosts aren't real. Enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours after most places have closed down for the night.
