The location is perfect, just towards the end of town. Idyllic surroundings, easy to bike to. The staff was super friendly. Room was plain and just what we wanted. Didn't get a chance to go to the restaurant(s). Good price considering it's Mackinaw island.
We then stopped by The Greens hoping for a better experience. We waited for 15 minutes for a server and we were finally acknowledged as we were leaving. One of the nicest hotels on the island we expected way better service.
We enjoyed our stay at Mission Point Resort. The room in Straits Lodge had 2 full size beds. The room was nice. The only element that it lacked was a small refrigerator. Luckily, we brought our own cooler and our room was near the ice machine. The staff were very courteous.
Having our wedding at Mission Point was one of the best decisions we made. The wedding coordinators at Mission Point are second to none. They work tirelessly to ensure that all of your events go off without a hitch. They are very responsive to any request, regardless of how big or small it is, and make the effort to get to know the couple and their wedding vision. The food and beverages were excellently crafted and delicious. Plus the spaces for a ceremony and reception are stunning and well organized. Having our wedding at Mission Point made for a relaxing and stress free experience. And your guests will love Mission Point for so many reasons. There are so many restaurants and shops on the property, as well as a plethora of fun activities and rentals to for them to choose from. Your guests will never be bored or go hungry! The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure that every one of your guests is happy and cared for. We highly recommend choosing Mission Point as the location to have your wedding.
So disappointed. We went to the Round bar on Friday 8/11 around 4:30pm and they were not busy at all. We sat at the bar and waited 20 minutes to get drinks which were way too sweet ( the bartender didn't know how to make the drinks on the menu and had to ask someone how). We just didn't feel welcomed at all. No communication from the bartender unless we flagged him down and half of our food order was missing.
Out of town staff was very friendly while locals seemed annoyed with the visitors who knowingly pay an arm and a leg to visit the historic island and maintain it's upkeep during the off season months. With respect to the island vendors who do respect the nature of the visitors and maintain a fair price, this vendor/hotel was not one of them. At Mission Point you will pay for its reputable location and status but don't expect anything in return for choosing to stay in this historic hotel - they want your money anyway they can get it from the moment you get your keys. I presume this is how people with money expect to be treated or this must be how people that save all year want to be treated. Location is great [downtown but not in the center of it and the walk to and from downtown is wonderful], grounds are beautiful.
