While the condo was well equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, management does not allow guests to cook there. Apparently there was some incident in the past. They offer Weber grills instead and provide the coals and fire to use them. However, they had few grilling instruments making it difficult at times. It would have been nice to have the kitchen available, it would have given us a lot more options to choose from.
My family and I have stayed at LakeBluff Condos for going on seven years. We always look forward to visiting our home away from home. The condos are very spacious and clean. We enjoy the secluded atmosphere away from the bustle of the downtown area. The condos offer a scenic view overlooking the lake and bridge. Very friendly staff who always give us a warm welcome; we always love to see Fritz every year. He thinks of every possible way to make us comfortable, from bringing umbrellas if it's going to rain to firewood on chilly nights. Thank you, staff and management, for having us each year!
2) Quiet time starts at 10 pm according to the on-site property manager (Fritz) even thou the signs located above your head as you walk onto the open air entry way states 11pm. I would politely recommend you updating the signs on the property.
We always enjoy our visit to Lake Bluff condos every summer. The condos are so charming and quiet. The rooms are very comfortable! Also, you'll have the best views on the island here. We love to cookout and kick back with our friends and family. The staff is wonderful... very nice and helpful. Five stars!
I stayed for a week and just loved it! I don't want to be downtown, so I love this location near Stonecliffe where I can view the bridge and sunset every night, on the back porch. Staff is great, they really keep it clean, and I love being able to make a fire in the fireplace. Beds are comfortable, what else can I say...ideal and idyllic location.
I just want to stay there on vacation and enjoy myself. I treat this property as if it was my own and don't want to feel awkward staying there. I even used the vacuum in the front closet on the right hand side as you come through the front door and vacuumed the whole unit myself. I just want to feel what a good paying customer should feel.
1) The photos online and one the website shows a kitchen however you are not allowed to use it. This is due to the fact that someone I guess baked cookies or something and forgot about them. I can see how frustrating that must of been but things happen. The people staying there from this point will not be allowed to use it because of the actions of this one person(s). I would politely recommend removing all photos showing the kitchens online since that could be miss-leading when someone is looking to stay.
The condos are very secluded and peaceful on the western edge of the island. It is at least a 30 minute carriage ride from the docks, be sure to factor in variable 15-30 waits for pick up. Bikes are very helpful and there is plenty of parking provided. However, bikes are not included and two days with overnight rentals is a little over $100 for one bike. I recommend Mackinac Wheels, the staff there are very friendly and the prices are good.
So I decided to update my review due to the fact that sometimes I just need a moment. Since Marianne was nice enough sorry, Let me share some suggestions.
During our stay the building manager Fritz was always willing to help us with information or grabbing breakfast items. Complimentary breakfast includes packaged muffins, cereal, a small waffle, and milk. The housekeeping services were great and the condos were very clean.
