Tasty food, great view and attentive service - what more can you ask for? They definitely aren't the cheapest place around, but here on the island everything costs a bit more. They have a full bar and decent beer list. Looks like they have live music sometimes, but no one was playing while we were here. Also, they have quite a few vegetarian options.
Upon receiving our bill at the end of our meal. I was a bit surprised that nothing was actually done on there end to make our experience somewhat better. No discount off the bill, no visit or apology from the manager, no negative charge for the meal. Come on Pink Pony. You've been serving customers for years.
When confronting the waitress, she offered to make us another burger. We decided against and asked for at least some new fries.
The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one, is that the food did "taste" good.
We were here for 50 minutes watching all the tables around us receive multiple drinks, appetizers, and full meals before we even received our appetizer. Same server. Sure the food is good--ok it's great--but when everyone around you gets everything they want and you don't get squat, then I fart in your general direction. I talked to the manager, and she was very kind and understanding (note: I was not rude in any way, so even if you're mad treat people the way you'd like to be treated) and picked up our meal, for which I was grateful. I was so mad when the appetizer came that I completely lost my appetite and had the rude urge to throw food in faces. When we were sat, we were told "dinner is at 5 but drinks and appetizers are being served," to which we replied, "great!" If this entire mess was because only SOME appetizers are available, then Pink Pony must clearly print this on menus with times. I'm American, so if there are exceptions, they must be stated to be understood. And yes, I still left a tip.
I had high hopes. To start off with we were able to get into a booth within seconds of walking in and our waitress seemed nice. The food we ordered was great and tasted quite delicious. About half way through our meal. The unimaginable happened... a hair...cooked right into the patty of the burger...complete appetite loss. Seriously.
We originally wanted to be seated in the Pink Pony bar area for appetizers and drinks but our party was to big and there were no seats available for us. The hostess brought us to a fancier part of the restaurant. Upon getting seated we were interested in the beer/drinks available and grabbed a drink menu from the bartender. We were unfamiliar with the beer options seeing we are not from Michigan. The bartender let us sample quite a few options so we could find out which beer we liked. We paid for them at the bar. The waiter got so obviously upset because the drinks were not being counted on our food tab for a larger tip. Felt bad and ordered a couple of pops for the kids which afterward he purposely 'forgot to bring until we asked for the tab. Hope he enjoys the $20 tip we left for extremely poor/rude service. Will not return to this place.
We come to this restaurant each year we visit the island and it doesn’t disappoint. The food is delicious, I got the Michigan apple and goat cheese salad and tomato bisque - it was amazing and filling!! My daughter got the ribs, they were fall off the bone delicious. The wine was the best I’ve had on the island, and our waiter was the right balance of being there when we needed him and aloof when we didn’t need him. We sat out on the patio, despite the cold and rainy night (came out the end of the season) the temperature was perfect.
