Mackinac Island Tuxedo (MIT) did... okay. They were very hard to get a hold of to discuss tuxedo options and choices. Rarely returned e-mails or calls and never confirmed one thing! All of my groomsmen e-mailed their measurements and nobody heard anything from the owner. I had to call to confirm that he got all of their information, and have of the e-mails were "caught in spam". He tried telling me that only one of my guys got him the info, when I knew for a fact (I was copied on the e-mails) that they were sent weeks prior.
Summation - VERY POOR communication
The choices for tuxedo rental on the island are limited, so you'll probably end up being forced to go with MIT. Hopefully my review will help you avoid some of the stress I endured. It all worked out, but I would have done a few things differently if I knew what I know now.
I will start off by saying that my wedding turned out GREAT... and we loved every minute of it!!
As for the big day, I had 6 groomsmen and the two fathers who rented tuxedos. I finalized the color/style choices 3 weeks prior. The two fathers were supposed to get a different style than the groomsmen with black bow-ties and cummerbunds, but they actually got the exact same thing as the groomsmen. This was not a big deal, but it was just one more thing against MIT. They delivered the tuxedos to the Inn at Stonecliffe, which was a GREAT perk and was incredibly convenient. However, they got the name tags on the tuxedo bags mixed up so people got the incorrect tux which was fitted for somebody else. Needless to say, this was a little stressful as people were getting ready and it took us a little while to figure out what was going on. One more thing, if you go with these guys make sure you ask for a receipt for proof of payment. One of my groomsmen paid with cash, and they tried making him pay twice as their record keeping is questionable at best and they lost track of who paid and who didn't.
